STEVE STAEDLER


During Tactics II, Steve Staedler, the senior account executive and public relation personal at LePoidevin Marketing, spoke to our class Monday Oct. 14 about B2B PR, Cision along with PR Strategy, new technology in media relations, social media integration in news campaigns as well as offering professional advice followed by a short question and answer section.  
To start out our discussion Staedler spoke about Cision-Point, which is said to be the second, most important tool to have next to social media. Cision is media monitoring software where professionals can build media list. Though this software thousands of dollars, this is a tool that is well worth the money.
Staedler has had 15 years of experience. Post graduation from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, Staedler landed a job working for the Journal Sentinel was well as Community Newspaper Inc. Between graduating and working for the Journal Sentinel Steadler was also a public affairs specialist for the Air Force Reserve. Currently Staedler works for in B2B (LePoidevin Marketing) where Staedler has a wide spectrum of clients from Animal Health, Spindles, to hand tools.

  1. I agree that the Cision-Point software is an excellent media tool because it can help professionals connect with each other. I like how you added the various positions Steve has had because it shows the diversity that the public relations field has to offer.

  2. Seeing Cision-Point in person was a great learning opportunity and I understand why it is an important media tool to a public relations professional. Also I must have missed when Steve said some of his clients where animal health and spindles because I only caught the tools part. I find that very interesting that he has also worked with those clients as well

  3. Being walked thru cision was very helpful. I agree can be a very powerful tool even more so that social media in the PR world. His experience showed and was great to get some insight from someone who knows the field that well.
